I’m on the weight watchers diet and I am confused about the pts for steak and chicken?

I’m on Weight Watchers and in my book it is saying the 4 oz of steak is 4pts, whereas 4oz of chicken is 7pts. I always thought that chicken was better for you then steak. Any advice is welcomed.

it,s not about better. white meat chicken without the skin is much lower calories than beef. dark meat chicken has more fat in it. the chicken skin is where the fat is.

Hi. Wait Watchers is not a diet. It teaches you to eat properly. I joined WW in April 2009 and I have lost 76 lbs and I feel good about myself. I have heard people say “Weight Watchers doesn’t work for me”. I say WW doesn’t work for anyone –YOU HAVE TO WORK IT. If you follow the plan you are guarinteed to lose weight.
NOW to answer your question: My book says steak, regular 1 small (125 g (4 oz) is 10 pts. AND strip sirloin trimmed 1 small 125 gms ( 4 oz) 5 pts. AND T-bone trimmed 1 smalol 125 gms ( 4 oz) 7 points.
Chicken: breast without skin and bone 90 gms (3 oz) 3 points
breast without skin 135 gms ( 4.5 oz) 3 points
drumstick without skin 45 gms (1.5 oz 1 point
thigh without skin 90 gms (3 oz) 3 points.

At your next meeting, ask your lecturer to varify this.

Stay focused and you will be happy with the results.
    Good luck

I agree that Weight Watchers is a lifestyle change not a diet. If you have any questions regarding the plan, that is what your leader is there for. Just ask him/her. Good luck.
