I’d check with a DR but also ring the weight watchers helpline and see what they have to say???

I am a nurse at a nursing home. We are switching our residents to a Consistent Carbohydrate Diet. It’s supposed to keep blood sugar under better control than a diet that has no concentrated sweets (ie: sugar, coke, pie). The idea is that you have smaller portions of things you enjoy as long as ALL carbs are counted. I believe the diet is similar to weight watchers. Ask you doctor of course.. but I believe it to be ok.

I am diabetic and have been doing weight watchers for about 8 weeks now. My blood sugar levels have never been better and my cholesterol levels have come down also. My 3 month diabetic check up was last week and my 3 month sugar (not sure what the technical name for it is) was 6.1. The one previous to starting weight watchers was 7.5, my doctor was very happy and said if I keep it up he will lower my dosages (Metphormin & Glipizide – and lowered my zocor already)
